Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun pointed out that the international community faces challenges such as unilateralism, protectionism, and hegemonic practices.
In this context, the region’s countries seek to strengthen their unity and cooperation to protect stability and face common challenges together, he added.
Guo criticized the Philippines and the nations outside the region for conducting military exercises and deploying strategic and tactical weaponry.
The spokesperson noted that such behavior threatens regional stability and undermines the area’s economic growth.
Guo said, “China firmly opposes any attempt by other countries to use the Taiwan issue as a pretext to escalate their military presence in the region, fuel tensions, and compromise peace and stability.”
