Cuba Health 2025 opens in Havana

Havana, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) The 5th International Convention, Cuba Health 2025, opens in Havana on Monday with some 3,000 participants from 50 countries until April 25.

Hosted at Havana’s Conference Center and the Pabexpo fairgrounds, the great world event will feature more than 400 scientific activities and more than 200 keynote speeches, panels, symposiums, and meetings.

Ileana Morales, National Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the Public Health Ministry, informed at a press briefing that the 16th “Health for All” Trade Fair and the 2nd International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair will also be held.

“The 1st Cuba-China Science and Innovation Symposium will also take place to address issues related to biotechnology and include speeches by several deans of medical universities in the Asian country,” Morales said.

As part of the activities, the Convention will hold the 1st National Congress “Una Sola Salud” (Only one Health), to address the Caribbean nation’s comprehensive health strategy, integrating knowledge and active participation of all branches of society, from agriculture, education, water, and energy resources.

“Cuba Health 2025” also hosts the 16th “Health for All” Trade Fair from April 21 to 24, whose central theme is “Universal Health Coverage and Health Equity,” promoted by the MEDICuba Company.

The event also opens the doors to the 2nd International Medical and Wellness Tourism Fair at the Pabexpo fairgrounds on April 21-24. It will promote wellness tourism, where the products, experiences, and advances in health tourism in Cuba will be exhibited due to the collaboration between the tourism and health sectors.

Another milestone of the 2025 event is the participation for the first time of a Cambodian delegation headed by Ly Sovann, Director of the Communicable Disease Control Department at the Health Ministry, and Huy Meng Hut, Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations.

Ileana Morales explained that the event will conclude with the Havana Declaration, where the main health challenges for the world in the coming years will be presented.
