In a telephone conversation with Lebanese Army Commander Rodolphe Heikal, Berri assured that Lebanon complied with the terms of the cessation of hostilities, while Israel continues to violate its sovereignty and the resolutions of international law.
The head of the unicameral legislature was briefed by Heikal on the latest developments in the south, where Israel intensified its attacks.
According to Al-Manar channel’s review, among the targeted areas were Kawthariyeh al-Siyad, Houla, Arnoun, as well as several villages in Iqlim al-Tuffah and Jabal al-Rihan heights.
The attacks left numerous martyrs and wounded, both among the civilian population and in the ranks of the Lebanese army.
Berri expressed his condolences for the fallen soldiers in the town of Briqaa and for the civilians who lost their lives as a result of the recent Israeli raids.
Yesterday, the Central Command of the Armed Forces reported that an army officer and two soldiers were killed and several civilians were wounded as a result of an ammunition explosion while being transported inside a military vehicle in the Briqaa area of Nabatieh.
