From Doha, the Qatari capital, and in the middle of the coastal landscape on the Corniche promenade, the art gallery exhibits works from the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (Malba) and the Costantini Collection (a collection of works by Latin American artists), by Eduardo F. Costantini.
The NMoQ, a symbol of modernity, emerges as one of the most unique cultural jewels of the Middle East and boasts a monumental structure that plays with this art exhibition as part of the Qatar-Argentina-Chile Year of Culture 2025.
Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel -a Pritzker Prize winner-, the building that houses the institution is inspired by an indigenous mineral formation known as the “desert rose,” which emerged over millennia through the combined action of wind, saline water and sand.
The result is a set of interlocking disks of various curvatures and sizes that overlap, creating a challenging and sculptural architecture.
The entity’s layout spans 52,000 square meters and envelops the restored Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani Palace, the historic heart of the museum and former seat of the Qatari government.
