The work, choreographed by the outstanding Spanish dancer and choreographer Antonio Gades, will have in the main roles the general director of the National Ballet of Cuba and president of this festival, Viengsay Valdés, who will alternate with Cuban dancer Sadaise Arencibia; and Spaniard Joaquín de Luz.
This Tuesday, a parade of the Schools and Societies of the Federation of Spanish Societies in Cuba, at the entrance of the National Theater, will be the prelude to the opening gala, which has reserved the screening of the audiovisual Memories of the Footprint of Spain, between flamenco pieces and the declamation of the poem Ballad of the two grandparents, by Nicolas Guillen, in the voice of actors Georbis Martinez and Roberto Romero.
During several days, the event will promote the exchange of practices and knowledge among dance personalities from Cuba and abroad, who will share with the public in concerts, master classes, audiovisual screenings and tasting of typical dishes of the Balearic Autonomy.
The Covarrubias and Avellaneda halls of the National Theater will open their doors to dance excellence, with performances by the Ballet Español de Cuba, Compañía Flamenca Ecos and Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, among other groups and artists.
