The world’s indifference to the issue is no less atrocious than the crimes committed by the occupying Army in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the official said, speaking at the 4th general session of the organization, held in Baghdad, according to an official statement.

He underscored that security and stability in the Middle East will not be achieved without reaching a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Despite mediation attempts, led by Egypt and Qatar, the Israeli Army continues its offensive against Gaza, where more than 51,000 people have been killed since the current cycle of violence started in October 2023.

The United Nations and several NGOs warned about the severe humanitarian crisis in the territory due to the airstrikes and the total Israel-imposed blockade, which has cut off the entry of food, medicines, fuel, and other essential supplies since March 2.
