“Saying with our souls on high, peace is ours, with peace we do not play, peace is our right, our heritage, our inheritance, peace has to be firm and lasting and is the fruit of respect; peace is in Nicaragua and we proclaim it,” co-president Rosario Murillo said.

In citizen power press media, the high Sandinista leader declared that peace is defended in Nicaragua as a supreme and absolute truth.

“We are going to walk all over the country, saying peace we live, peace we urge, peace we need in the whole world, peace is with us”, she stated.

The National Assembly (Parliament) of Nicaragua unanimously approved at the beginning of this month the law declaring April as the month in which the people defend peace.

In plenary session, the legislators recognized the historical struggle and the courage of Nicaraguans who “have known how to confront the aggressors and traitors of the homeland”.
