According to a statement issued by the regional institution, while addressing the 163rd ordinary session of the organization’s Council at the foreign minister level, Aboul Gheit described as shameful and reprehensible “the world’s silence in the face of this inhuman situation”.
This brutal war on civilians continues daily with shelling, murders, house demolitions, siege, starvation, and the ban on entry aid into Gaza, the official denounced.
He condemned the blockade imposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the coastal enclave, which prevents the entry of food, medicine, drinking water, and fuel, among other essential supplies.
He affirmed, “There is no longer any doubt that ethnic cleansing is the goal of this war.”
Unfortunately, Aboul Gheit noted, the forced displacement helped give unprecedented impetus to the Israeli right’s more extreme and vicious plans to reoccupy parts of the Strip.
