According to Valdes, Latin American embassies accredited in the Caucasian nation and Azerbaijani businessmen from different sectors of industry and commerce attended the important business event in Baku.
The Latin American diplomatic missions presented their national potentialities in terms of investment and international trade.
The Cuban ambassador, in his speech, expressed the importance of foreign investment in the economic and social development plan of his country until 2030.
Valdés recalled that under the current conditions, priority is given to projects aimed at food production and energy from renewable sources, the renovation of the national industry, local development projects in general, health and biotechnology, among others.
He also explained that the portfolio of business opportunities in Cuba includes 607 investment projects distributed throughout the country. They are present in food production, energy, tourism, sugar agribusiness and its derivatives, transportation and logistics, efficient trade, construction, culture, telecommunications and information technology, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.
