President Daniel Noboa, informed through his account in X that he ordered the immediate deployment of all ministers in the province of Esmeraldas “to coordinate the installation of shelters, delivery of humanitarian aid kits and assistance in everything our people need”.

The National Secretariat of Risk Management (SNGR) reported that in Esmeraldas one person was injured in the head.

The government entity specified that they preliminarily detected five public properties affected, among them the headquarters of the Integrated Security Service ECU 911, the Vargas Torres University, and the Prefecture building.

In addition, structural damages in two health centers and at least three houses were affected, although images circulating in local media and social networks indicate more damaged houses.

The National Electricity Corporation reported power outages in several sectors of Esmeraldas, where workers of the institution are traveling around the territory to assess the damage and begin work to restore the supply.
