Speaking at the 43rd anniversary of the liberation of the Sinai Peninsula, occupied by Israel after the 1967 war, El-Sisi criticized Israel’s offensive against Gaza.
The president stated that the ongoing war there “is destroying everything and leaving tens of thousands of victims in a shameful humanitarian tragedy that will remain etched in history.”
The head of State underscored that our position was clear from the first moment. We demand a ceasefire, the release of hostages and detainees from both sides, the delivery of sufficient aid to the population, and the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
El-Sissi stressed that the reconstruction of the coastal enclave must be conducted according to the plan presented by Cairo and approved by the other states of the region at a recent Arab summit.
