Until April 27, Havana will move at will in symphony, metaphorically speaking, in which the body is the main protagonist in theoretical forums, yoga and contemporary dance workshops, flamenco and tango music.
Friday’s program starts at 10:00 local time when Habana Espacios Creativos opens the video-dance exhibition “Urban landscapes danced for a screen”, followed by another exhibition: “Nature that protects our bodies”.
The International Festival of Dance in Urban Landscapes will officially open at 3:00 p.m. local time at the Plaza de Armas in Havana’s Historic Center.
Habana Vieja, Ciudad en Movimiento will feature on its first day Danza Teatro Retazos and the dance group Centro Cultural Ollin Yoliztli (Mexico), as well as the company Raices Profundas and Cuban Soho (Cuba).
In the afternoon, Danza Teatro Retazos will host several activities, and in the evening, starting at 7:00 p.m. local time, the special presentation of Nemian Danza Escénica (Mexico) will take place at the venue itself.
Havana will be filled on this day with workshops, master classes, theoretical events, urban presentations, and an amalgam of colors, sounds, parties, and costumes, in an urban dance for the whole family. jrr/arm/mem/dp
