In a statement released last night, the Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc indicated that there were five requests referred to the existence of an important number of minutes with several inconsistencies, detected during the second round of elections of last April 13.
The Executive Secretariat of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) underlined “its strong rejection to this act, which closes and hinders one of the doors to the process of legal claims”.
With this, it affirmed, “the fraud to which the Ecuadorian people were subjected, under a combination of dubious elements and circumstances which were also exposed by international observers and which are far from transparent elections respectful of the will of the people” is validated.
He also called on the people of Latin America, the Caribbean and the entire world to “remain alert to the serious events that took place during the electoral process, which presume a premeditated and sophisticated electoral fraud without precedent in Ecuador”.
