The Government Media Office in Gaza warned in a statement about the continued and alarming deterioration of the situation in the coastal enclave, home to more than two million people.
“The Israeli occupation continues to impose a suffocating blockade, deliberately closing border crossings completely and preventing the entry of food and humanitarian aid,” it criticized.
Famine today is no longer just a threat, but a bitter reality and represents one of the most horrific forms of slow mass killing, it emphasized.
The statement warned that more than 60,000 children suffer from severe malnutrition in the territory, while thousands of Palestinian families were forced to face death by starvation after being unable to provide a single meal for their children.
