The Minister highlighted on social media the talks she held with her counterparts from Cuba and Belarus, Bruno Rodríguez and Sergey Lukasevich, respectively, on the occasion of the meeting of foreign ministers of that forum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “We agree on the need to strengthen cooperation and solidarity between our peoples, reactivating joint agendas in strategic areas such as health, education, agriculture, science, and technology,” Sosa wrote on Facebook.
The official reported that during the talks, the parties emphasized collaboration in areas such as biotechnology, energy, medicine, agriculture, and tourism. She also reaffirmed the desire to consolidate Bolivia as a key player in regional integration and in building a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world.
Sosa wrote that during the talks, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of multilateralism, mutual cooperation, and solidarity among peoples, in line with the call of the Global South to address major global and regional challenges in a coordinated manner.
The Government of Bolivia considers participation in the meeting a transcendental step in its international positioning, thereby reaffirming its commitment to active and multilateral diplomacy.
The foreign ministers of the BRICS member countries anticipate a fruitful exchange of views on current issues on the international agenda, such as strengthening multilateralism, reforming global institutions, and promoting a more just and equitable international order.
