Such a competition for high school students is considered one of the most prestigious and oldest in the field of chemistry.
Four students and a mentor representing the invited country will participate.
The competition will include two theoretical and one practical exam.
The winners will receive medals and certificates.
Each team will receive the official IMCho protocol and the overall winner a prize in memory of V.V. Lunin.
For the first time, a Cuban, Dr. Gerardo Manuel Ojeda, head of the pre-selection and professor at the Faculty of Chemistry of Havana University, was invited to be part of the international jury.
As a novelty, Latin American countries were invited as a tribute to Brics+, the expansion of the bloc that was originally formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and now includes new members such as Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
This is the second time that the Caribbean island participates in such contest.
The first time was last year after a visit by Education Minister Naima Ariatne Trujillo to Russia.
In addition, the Cuban delegation now includes, as a mentor, Dr. Julieta Coro Bermello, president of the Cuban Society of Chemistry, professor of Biochemistry of the pre-selection and of the Faculty of Chemistry of Havana University.
And students Marco Antonio Asin and Roy Roger, from the Pre-university Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE) of Camagüey.
Also students Juan Carlos Yepe, from IPVCE Havana, and Ernesto Alejandro Barrera, from Sancti Spíritus.
