The president wrote this remark through his X profile, where he congratulated Kamla Persad-Bissessar on her victory in the island nation’s general elections.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also congratulated Persad-Bissessar on the same social platform and reiterated Cuba’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

Persad-Bissessar, who already served as prime minister from 2010 to 2015, returns to power after a campaign focused on economic reactivation, citizen security, and strengthening Caribbean integration.

The leader will formally take the post after being sworn in before the President of the Republic, in a ceremony scheduled for the coming days.
