The study is scheduled for May 30 and 31.
The knowledge assessment is coordinated by the Regional Office for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean of UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and is the most far-reaching educational assessment initiative in the region.
According to the Cuban News Agency (ACN), citing Cuban officials in the sector, the ERCE will also assess the socio-emotional skills of students, which require families active participation in the planned activities.
In its 2019 Regional Exercise report, UNESCO recognized the Caribbean island’s achievements in education and its commitment to ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education that promotes learning opportunities for all.
The global organization commissioned the study to its Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education.
Nineteen countries are expected to participate, with students demonstrating their skills in writing, text comprehension, mathematical calculations, and knowledge in natural sciences.
