According to a Foreign Ministry statement issued Tuesday, the three nations’ foreign ministers accepted the proposal after meeting with King Mohammed VI of Morocco in this capital on Monday.
The three countries of the Sahel region, led by military juntas, left the so-called Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) last year to create their security association, known as the Alliance of Sahel States (ASS), after that organization blocked their trade agreements.
