The border crossings must be reopened and the siege must end, said Juliette Touma, Communications Director for the United Nations Relief and Work Agencies for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
In her statements, published by UNRWA on X, Touma stressed that nearly 3,000 trucks of the agency, laden with vital goods, are waiting at the Egyptian border to enter the territory.
The Agency’s press office also criticized this week the food and health crisis in the Strip.
The border crossings remain closed, causing the worst humanitarian crisis in the Strip since the conflict started in October 2023, the institution warned in a statement sent to the Safa news agency.
UNRWA stressed that food, drinking water, and medical care are becoming increasingly scarce.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates criticized the “systematic policy of depriving defenseless civilians of food, water, and medicine since March 2, through the complete closure of border crossings.”
