Thousands of people, carrying flags, banners alluding to the date and in support of the Cuban revolutionary process, responded to the call of the “Central de Trabajadores de Cuba” (CTC) to participate this year in the march for May 1st.
The return to the traditional parade at the Havana’s José Martí Revolution Square, suspended by the Covid 19 pandemic, is the highlight of the Cuban celebration, due to the symbolism of the site, where exactly 25 years ago -in 2000-, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, delivered the concept of Revolution.
In the presence of the country’s top leaders, tens of thousands of Havana’s citizens and more than a thousand foreign guests expressed their rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades, which hinders the country’s development and affects the livelihood of millions of Cubans.
Under the communication campaign “For Cuba Together We Create”, the CTC promoted the popular attendance to the marches, demonstrating its support to the revolutionary process through massive rallies in all the squares of the country.
