The event was convened by the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and includes an official opening, as well as the lecture “Cuba: 66 Years of Resistance and Dignity”, given by Cuban writer, historian, and journalist Raúl Antonio Capote.
In the afternoon session, Lil María Pichs, Deputy Director of Coordination of the Martí Program Office, will present “Challenges of Cuban Youth in the Face of Subversive War.” Meeting attendees will participate in panel discussions.
According to the program Sunday will feature a screening of the documentary “The Slavery That Liberates You,” and Elier Ramírez, Deputy Director of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center on the island, will give a lecture on “BRICS, CELAC, ALBA: Multilateralism as a Response to Imperialism.”
Finally, the agreements will be read and approved, as well as a final declaration.
In the opinion of the organization, Cuba will face a difficult path with the return of the Republican administration, and the severe shortcomings of more than 60 years of blockade will continue to hinder the well-being of the Cuban people.
“The world must now confront the unstoppable and shameless expansionist desire of the United States, with its threats of military and economic intervention against those who dare to contradict its imperial designs,” the organization declared. Therefore, it emphasized, more than ever, Cuba represents a beacon of hope for humanity.
