They emphasized in a press release that the coastal enclave is experiencing a “state of total famine” due to the complete siege imposed by the Israeli Armed Forces since March 2.
The signatories specifically addressed US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly supported the Israeli military campaign against the territory, home to more than two million Palestinians.
In this context, they urged the White House to reconsider its policy and restore its humanity by pressuring its key ally in the Middle East.
They also appealed to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to intervene and help save the people of Gaza.
Several UN agencies noted that thousands of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid are waiting on the Egyptian side to enter Gaza.
Given this situation, they demanded the opening of border crossings and permission for aid to enter.
