Operation Storm in its second phase in Jamaica

Kingston, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The Jamaica Constabulary Force today launched Operation Storm, which in its second phase is aimed at dismantling 13 criminal gangs that threaten the citizens' peace.

The scenario will be Saint James, and the first mission will be to locate as precisely as possible the criminal groups that have established their bases in different communities.

The intention of the security forces is to dismantle and disarm these gangs, no matter how long it takes to do so.

The security force alerted neighborhoods that they will notice an increase in law enforcement, but law-abiding citizens should not worry, as the attention will be focused on the gangs.

The mission is to permanently remove them from the communities where they hide or operate, noted the Jamaica Observer online newspaper.

Operation Storm 2 chiefs called on persons with information about the criminal gangs to contact the police, and to share any information they may have about them.

Authorities warn that detainees should avoid resisting, and if they do not, officers will confront them to defend their physical integrity.
