“In 15 ,927 voting tables Luisa (Gonzalez) decreases in votes with respect to the first round.”
In many tables she loses more than 100 votes.
All of us who understand something about elections know that this is impossible. Why don’t they open the ballot boxes?’, wrote the former president in his account in the social network X.
Correa shared a chart detailing the alleged declines in votes by provinces of the RC candidate Gonzalez.
In his opinion, these data not only lack statistical precedents, but are also indications of a possible manipulation of results by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Correa insists that the loss of votes between the first and second round has no logical explanation and demands that the ballot boxes be opened for a review.
A bulletin sent to the press by the CR points out that a similar opinion was expressed by economist Francisco Rodriguez, from the Denver University, who described as ‘extremely anomalous’ the result that gave the victory to the current president, Daniel Noboa, over Gonzalez with a difference of 11.3 points.
The Italian-Venezuelan journalist Mirko Casale also questioned the April 13 ballot and pointed out that the margin of victory was much wider than anticipated by the polls, which predicted a technical tie, and listed legal irregularities, logistical failures and atypical patterns.
In view of this scenario, the CR, which participated in the process in alliance with the Total Renovation Movement (RETO), has filed formal challenges before the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Electoral Disputes Tribunal (TCE).
So far, both institutions have rejected all claims, which for sectors opposed to Noboa’s government constitutes a cover-up strategy, affirmed the CR.
“They ask us to “prove fraud”. We ask then that they open the ballot boxes, but they deny us everything,” expressed Correa in another message in X.
The Center for Economic and Policy Research analyzed Noboa’s triumph and identified that the use of power and State resources would have been factors that influenced his victory.
