Ethiopian Federal Police’s Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael, the Forum’s President Andy Tsang, members of the East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization, and representatives of police commissions from several African countries participated in the meeting held on Monday.
Gebremichael explained that the meeting prioritizes collective security and added that Addis Ababa makes an important contribution to promoting peace at the continental level.
He underscored that with its participation, Ethiopia raised key issues for the protection of citizens and their property, and the maintenance of internal order.
It also reported on the platform’s benefits in combating transnational organized crime and ensuring public safety.
Ethiopia was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, eastern China, last year.
