Sobyanin announced on his Telegram channel, “The air defense systems of the Russian Defense Ministry foiled a seven-drone attack flying to Moscow.”
The mayor added that emergency teams arrived at the places where the fragments of the devices fell.
He recalled that the Russian military troops shot down on Tuesday eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) approaching the country’s capital.
Russia earlier declared a unilateral ceasefire from May 8 to 10 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, but Ukraine has not accepted it.
