Despite the geographical distance, Vietnam and Kazakhstan maintain a strong friendship and multifaceted collaboration that has grown effectively, especially in the economy, trade, and investment, he emphasized.
Referring to the great potential both nations have for deeper cooperation, the official noted their complementary export structures, allowing Vietnamese products to find markets in Kazakhstan and transit through it to other destinations.
The intention to promote substantial, effective, and comprehensive economic cooperation was reflected in the Joint Declaration issued on Tuesday. It addressed the establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the two countries and the decision to strengthen ties between legislative bodies, in accordance with the new partnership framework, as well as to strengthen political consultations at the vice-foreign ministerial level.
Both sides also advocated for considering cooperation in defense and security matters, promoting the signing of agreements in this area, and exploring the possibility of collaboration in training and United Nations peacekeeping operations.
In a speech delivered Tuesday at the Academy of Public Administration, To Lam said the agreed Strategic Partnership must translate into concrete and effective collaboration, becoming a model for South-South cooperation between Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
