Cuba issues forecasts for the 2025 hurricane season

Havana, May 8 (Prensa Latina) The danger of Cuba being affected by a hurricane in the coming Atlantic and Caribbean Cyclonic Season is moderate, with a 50% probability, predicted the Institute of Meteorology (Insmet)in its most recent release.

The report states that at least one tropical storm could hit Cuba, with a 70% probability.

In its predictions, Insmet explains that the oceanic and atmospheric conditions regulating tropical cyclone activity over this region will be favorable for this cycle, which officially starts on June 1 and lasts until November 30.

The formation of 15 tropical cyclones is foreseen, eight of which could become hurricanes, while 10 of them could develop in the Atlantic, three in the Caribbean Sea and two in the Gulf of Mexico.

The forecast also adds that there is a high probability of 75% that at least one hurricane will originate and intensify in the Caribbean.
