At a recent meeting of the Council of State, the members of that body also emphasized the importance of promoting exports of goods and services, boosting domestic production and the national industry to replace imports, and consolidating the process of bankarization, among other aspects.
The debates of the meeting, headed by the president of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, revolved around the implementation of the Government Program to correct distortions and boost the economy, as a guide for the country’s work.
Lazo insisted on the relevance of effective popular and institutional control from all spheres, especially in the municipality, as a fundamental territorial development link, and on the integrality and collective contribution in this process, the Parliament informed.
During the meeting, the Minister of Domestic Trade, Betsy Díaz, explained the actions developed to comply with the plan of measures derived from the accountability of this organism before the National People’s Power Assembly, in July 2024.
Among other issues, she delved into the activities aimed at improving retail trade, territorial management, e-commerce and banking restructuring in the sector.
Also on the attention to recreation, institutional communication, science and innovation, and the fight against crime and illegalities.
The meeting was attended at the National Capitol by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero.
