“Meeting with President Diaz-Canel in Russia is another proof to the world of how sovereign peoples build alliances of respect, cooperation and peace,” the Bolivarian leader said on the social network Telegram. “Excellent working day!” he emphasized.
Maduro described in another message that they shared “a number of good anecdotes of our history of brotherhood among peoples, with the president of Cuba, Diaz-Canel”. In this sense, he called to continue “strengthening our ties of union.”
The Venezuelan head of state extoled that in “this significant visit to Russia, together with our brother, the President of Cuba, Diaz-Canel, we paid honors to the equestrian statue of the Liberator Simon Bolivar in Moscow”.
With Bolivar we say: “this century is of peace”. Long live the union of Russia, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty and Latin America,” he stressed.
During the tribute to Bolivar with a floral offering, the Bolivarian dignitary highlighted the importance for the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean to be present in the Eurasian giant in the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.
Diaz-Canel, for his part, urged young Venezuelans, present in the Moscow square and studying in Russian universities, to follow the thread of history in order to be prepared for the defense of the sovereignty of nations.
