The head of state was received at José Martí International Airport by the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, Vice President Salvador Valdes and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Amado Ricardo Guerra, reported the Presidency of the Republic on the X social network.
Since last May 4, the Cuban president made an official visit to the Eurasian giant, where he confirmed the good state of relations at all levels with the Russian Federation, both politically, economically and commercially.
On the eve of the visit, he met with members of the state mission of the Caribbean nation in Moscow, to whom he stressed the importance of participating in the events for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Union against fascism, at a time when there is an attempt to distort history.
He also highlighted the coincidence of the celebrations with the 65th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the former Soviet Union, which took place on May 8, 1960.
Diaz-Canel also visited the Moskvich automobile factory, where the mayor of the Russian capital, Serguéi Sobianin, presented him with a donation check for 10 automobiles for social services in Havana.
During his official visit, the Cuban president was received by his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, with whom he agreed that the ties between Havana and Moscow have endured despite the challenges they have had to face over time.
Both presidents and representatives of the two countries held a round of negotiations where they reviewed the development of current bilateral agreements and the medium and long term plans for political, economic and commercial cooperation.
