In the talks Tajani insisted on the chances of a cease fire and the reopening of the humanitarian assistance to Gaza, where the Israeli attacks have killed about 50 thousand Palestinians.
Italian FM urged both parties “to resume negotiations,” sight the re-launching of a political process for a solution based on the principle of two independent States”, the note stresses.
Tajani talked on the concerns of the Italian Government for high human costs of the conflict on the civil Palestinian side, and the urgent need of guaranteeing humanitarian assistance to the Strip to lessen the sufferings of Gaza people.
Tajani said that under the “Food for Gaza” initiative, Italy has sent more than a 110 tons of sanitary aid and food supplies to the Strip, therefore, asked Saar that Tel Aviv guarantees the distribution of such products, in coordination with the WFP.
The Italian holder ratified his country’s will of giving more aid, at the time that Rome has decided to prorogue the State of Emergency in Gaza Strip for other 12 months.
Also, he said, that they have assigned other two and half million Euros to allow the continuity of the assistance to the population.
Tajani confirmed to Mustafa, also Palestinian Prime Minister, Rome’s commitment to continue on with the program of sanitary attention to Gaza population, through which more than a 100 hundred children have been taken to Italy for medical treatment.
