DDC Director General Panumas Yanwetsakul revealed that a total of 7013 Covid-19 cases were reported from May 4-8, with one fatality.
The highest infection rates were recorded among children aged 0 to 4 years, followed by those aged 30 to 39 years and 20 to 29 years; the reported death was one person over 60 years old.
Panumas detailed that epidemiological surveillance indicates that Covid-19 continues to spread in relation to large concentrations and seasonal changes; cases tend to increase during the rainy season, although recent weekly figures show a slight downward trend.
From January 1 to May 8, 2025, Thailand recorded 41,197 Covid-19 cases and 15 deaths in total; the health authority emphasized the importance of preventing the virus from reaching vulnerable groups at home.
