In a statement published by the agency’s press office, it is noted that this alert is based on the most recent analysis of the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), which shows a worsening of the situation in that area, where some 50,000 people have already died due to the Israeli aggression.
According to this report, between April 1 and May 10 of this year, 1.95 million Gazans, representing 93.0 percentage points of the population, were classified by the IPC as crisis-related phase three or higher, including 925,000 people in emergency phase four.
On the other hand, 244,000 people are in phase five, a catastrophe, representing 12% of the population.
In this regard, virtually the entire population of the Gaza Strip is at critical risk of famine after 19 months of conflict, mass displacement, and severe restrictions on humanitarian aid, the document states, condemning Tel Aviv’s blockade of the arrival of necessary assistance.
