Specifically, according to a statement, the meeting will discuss ongoing efforts to tackle and eradicate gender-based violence in the country.

Based on what have been stated, the ministry will report to the Portfolio Committee on the Departmental Programs to address Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBV), while also reporting on the progress of the implementation of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) by national and municipal ministries and state entities, through Monitoring and Evaluation programs.

The working sessions will be broadcasted live on the National Assembly’s television channel.

The Ministry of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities has a legal mandate to lead the socioeconomic transformation and implement the empowerment and participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities through integration, promotion, monitoring, and evaluation, the document states.
