Gil, who is attending this meeting representing President Nicolás Maduro, noted that the meeting was successfully inaugurated in Beijing with the presence of Sino president Xi Jinping.
He emphasized that “this great meeting laid the foundation for an ambitious unification program between China and our countries, with the goal of building a community with a shared future.”
The senior Bolivarian diplomat emphasized that five cooperation programs were outlined during the meeting, aimed at cultural exchange, broad-based scholarships, trade cooperation, development and mutual learning, and global security.
“These programs represent an important step toward closer and more effective collaboration between China and CELAC,” Yvan Gil emphasized.
