This is the name of the unique presentation that will take place on May 22 at 5:00 p.m., local time, in the prestigious hall of the Basilica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asis, in Habana Vieja.

The audience will fully enjoy the most popular genre in South America, Tango, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2009.

The event’s press reported that “Tangos de Concierto” features piano arrangements and performance by Rosa Garcia Oropesa; and that the Maestro of flamenco singing in the country, Andres Correa, will star this concert when singing emblematic pieces that have transcended in time and have become jewels of Argentine music.

Correa will take advantage of his mastery of cante Jondo to delve into tango style.

Cuban singer Maria de Jesus will be a special guest, as well as dancers Leonardo Rodriguez Torres and Amy Bermudez Diaz, members of the TangueArte project.

The presentation, that is artistically directed and produced by Helson Hernandez, is sponsored by the Argentinean Embassy in Cuba alongside its historic “Semana de Mayo”( May Week), by the Office of Havana City Historian, and CMBF Radio Musical Nacional on the celebration of its 77 anniversary foundation. jrr/jdt/mem/dla
