Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa represented Bolivia at the meeting, where she reaffirmed Bolivia’s commitment to multilateralism and integration among countries of the Global South and supported the Belt and Road Initiative.
The meeting held in Beijing on May 13th marked a decade of closer cooperation between China and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), beginning with the first ministerial meeting held in January 2015.
China and Latin America and the Caribbean represent one-fifth of the world’s land area and one-quarter of the global population, and therefore share enormous potential for common development in multiple areas.
Within the Forum, both sides have achieved significant successes in their multidimensional cooperation and exchange over the past 10 years.
During this decade, three ministerial meetings of the China-CELAC Forum have been successfully held, in addition to around 100 specialized events in 31 areas, including the China-CELAC Political Parties Forum, the China-LAC Business Summit, and the China-LAC Infrastructure Cooperation Summit.
