According to a press release from the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, the two nations held a mutual understanding dialogue, and some ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation were addressed.
The document emerged following a meeting between Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and acting Assistant US Trade Representative (USTR) for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Sarah Ellerman.
Due to these talks, the second round of negotiations was agreed to be held in the first week of June, again in the US capital. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with the United States to build a strong, cooperative, and balanced economic partnership.
