The newspaper highlights parts of the statement which emphasizes that with this stance, the U.S. State Department turns the struggle against global terrorism into a unilateral political exercise against countries that admits no submission to its hegemonic interests.
The document also recalls that exactly a year ago, when the previous U.S. government excluded Cuba from that same list, it acknowledged the value of bilateral cooperation in the application and enforcement of the law, which includes the joint fight against terrorism.
Last Wednesday, the Ugandan newspaper also published the Non-Aligned Movement Health Ministers’ statement praising Cuba’s contributions to international medical cooperation, while condemning efforts to discredit its global health missions.
Uganda has also consistently voted at the United Nations against the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than six decades.
