The three representatives expressed their deep concern over the worsening conflict and humanitarian crisis in Khartoum, and called for urgent international action to end the violence, ensure humanitarian access, and support a lasting ceasefire, the AU press release said.
They agreed to continue to coordinate efforts for a peaceful resolution of the war and reaffirmed their commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
Youssouf and his accompanying delegation were received on Friday by Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid at the Al-Salam Palace.
The meeting focused on boosting relations between Baghdad and Africa, in addition to exploring opportunities for strategic cooperation with the African Union Commission (AUC).
They also discussed with Gheit strengthening the partnership between the two organizations in development and diplomacy.
