DPRK leader urges to get army ready for war

Pyongyang, May 17 (Prensa Latina) The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, urged all units of the army to "make a far-reaching change in the preparations for war," it was announced today.

The chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) also urged the country’s armed forces to remain vigilant at all times.

His remarks followed recent military drills to develop skills in air defense missions such as detecting, tracking and destroying enemy cruise missiles and suicide drones from different directions, according to KCNA.

During these maneuvers, new bombs were used to simulate a DPRK fighter attack on enemy targets and a demonstration of strategic reconnaissance drones and multipurpose drones took place.

The 7th conference of the training officials of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) was also held here to review the successes and experiences made in the training field over the past seven years.

At the conference, Kim Jong Un delivered a report on the idea of opening a new stage in the development of the revolutionary armed forces by focusing on political-ideological and military-technological training, according to KCNA.

He also called for increasing the KPA’s combat capability and strength in support of the Party’s policy of prioritizing training.

During the event, an awarding ceremony of Party and State decorations to outstanding officials in strengthening military drills took place.
