China and Cuba strengthen political dialogue and interparty exchanges

Beijing, May 19 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Parties of China (CPC) and Cuba (CPC) are strengthening political dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and cooperation as both nations celebrate 65 years of diplomatic ties.

According to the Cuban Embassy, ​​Beatriz Johnson, First Secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee in Santiago de Cuba, spoke with Chinese counterparts about party work in socialist construction.

As part of her agenda in the capital, she was received by Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee. Both sides renewed their commitment to expand inter-party ties and exchange experiences within the framework of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Embassy published on its social media account.

Cuba and China recently reaffirmed their strategic collaboration on information technology and cybersecurity during the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Internet Development and Cooperation Forum.

The Cuban Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Reynaldo Velázquez, is on a visit to China focused on expanding cooperation in this sector. The Cuban representative exchanged views with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Guangyan. The officials renewed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas such as undergraduate and graduate education, joint research, and the exchange of professors and students, the Embassy reported.

Velázquez previously shared experiences on the ethical challenges and security of digital education during the World Digital Education Conference in China and also visited the Central-South University of Nationalities.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez emphasized last week that the bilateral relationship is of a special nature with strategic scope. He reiterated his gratitude to China for its support for Cuba’s socioeconomic development.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, Rodríguez highlighted the recent meeting in Moscow between the top leaders of Cuba and China and reiterated his commitment to advancing the implementation of common consensus and priorities.
