Israeli army violates Syrian sovereignty once again

Damascus, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Israeli occupation forces broke into Syrian territory today, located in the southwestern province of Quneitra, at about 60 kilometers southwest of Damascus, the capital. According to the testimonies of locals, the Zionist vehicles advanced towards Tal Kroum hill near the village of Jaba.

The patrol took up positions briefly before withdrawing, leaving direct warnings to local residents not to be present on the hill during the night.

Previously, the Israeli military entered the Syrian town of Kodna in Quneitra, where they set up a temporary checkpoint and began searching passersby and checking their IDs, without making any arrests.

Also, an Israeli force consisting of six military vehicles advanced towards Jabata Al-Khashab village in Quneitra.

Israeli attacks against Syria intensified after the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s government on December 8 last year.

Zionist forces launched hundreds of air strikes against Syrian military facilities, with the aim of destroying them and preventing the reconstruction of their infrastructure.

These aggressions coincided with ground incursions into the rural areas of Damascus, Quneitra and Deraa provinces, where the occupation forces took control of the buffer zone and then moved on to raid the border areas.

Later, the operations were no longer limited to military facilities, but also started targeting civilians.

Last March 17, four civilians were killed in a shelling on Deraa, and six others were killed a few days earlier in an attack on the village of Koya in the Yarmouk basin region.
