The official said, in an interview with the TASS news agency in the context of the Russia-Islamic World International Economic Forum, that in the long term, Russia will build industrial facilities around the world, including Latin America, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Osmakov noted that such facilities already exist and are planned for implementation in Central Asia. Two industrial parks are already operating in Uzbekistan, for example. Another will open this year in the Azerbaijani city of Sumqayit, and there is also a project in Tajikistan.
The Russian industrial zone project in Egypt is being implemented outside the Commonwealth of Independent States, the deputy minister recalled, adding that an agreement has already been signed with the right to use the land in this Suez Canal zone, where the Russian industrial zone will be located, and that they are now actively promoting this issue. This is perhaps the first project of its kind with such a high degree of state participation.
The 16th Russia-Islamic World International Economic Forum: KazanForum was held from May 13th to 18th in Kazan. The main theme of the forum was “Digitalization: New Reality and Additional Opportunities for Expanding Cooperation.” Representatives from more than 100 countries confirmed their participation in the meeting.
