The forum will be held in the context of the 12th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Commercial Cooperation in Havana, that opened on Monday.
The event will include a presentation to businessmen on business opportunities in priority sectors for both nations, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce announced. It will also facilitate individual conversations between different companies to establish possible alliances.
The 12th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission began its work this Monday, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), the co-chairs confirmed “the mutual will to strengthen bilateral economic ties” and the existing potential in the health and biotechnology sectors, the agri-food sector, and industry in general.
The delegations examined the results of the work in these and other areas, as well as the prospects for its continuity.
The purpose of the 12th Session is to “take concrete steps” to articulate the Bilateral Economic Agenda signed in June 2024 and to project joint work, with an emphasis on the 2025-2026 period, while continuing to visualize results in the medium and long term, MINCEX stated.
