“Today we commemorate the 123rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Cuba,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a message on its account on X.
“We reiterate our commitment to continue strengthening our bilateral relationship, in favor of the development and well-being of our peoples, as well as regional integration,” the message assures.
For its part, the Cuban Embassy in Mexico said on X that “the historic ties between the two countries have allowed us to strengthen the bonds of cooperation, brotherhood, and solidarity for the development of our peoples.”
On May 8, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio and Raquel Serur, Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held talks in Havana regarding the excellent state of bilateral relations.
Fernandez de Cossio led the island’s delegation to the 17th Meeting of the Working Group on Migration and Consular Affairs between the two countries, during which the two sides agreed to continue promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration with full respect for human rights.
