Lavrov expects to meet with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
These contacts follow up on the agreements reached at the highest level on October 8, 2024, after Mirzoyan visits to Moscow on January 21.
The Russian foreign minister’s work agenda also includes discussing a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, interaction in the context of Eurasian integration partnerships, and coordination of positions on international platforms, primarily at the United Nations.
The Russian and Armenian diplomats will exchange opinions on regional security, including prospects of normalizing the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish relations.
Lavrov and Mirzoyan signed the plan for Inter-Ministerial Consultations for 2025-2026.
Following tradition, flowers will be placed at the Eternal Flame near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and a wreath will be laid at the monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Lavrov previously visited Yerevan in June 2022.
