Tiruneh wrote on his X profile that, within the framework of that meeting on Food Security, Fight against Hunger and Rural Development, participants made field observations of local agricultural activities.
The tour included the Embrapa company in the Petrolina municipality, dedicated to research for more than 40 years.
He informed: “During our visit, we observed innovations in water’s capture, use, and management; high-purity cattle herds resistant to desertification; irrigated fruit farming; and fish farming.”
The African leader stated that other institutions aimed at sustaining these efforts were part of the program. Agriculture can transform a country rapidly, backed by solid research and evidence-based practices.
He underscored that, in the case of Ethiopia, they have also made significant progress in agriculture through targeted policies, strategic monitoring, and steady progress.
